This past weekend I ventured to Boston, MA for a little retreat in the beautiful city. Not being very familiar with the city I made sure my CoPilot Live was packed—which is easy to do as it’s conveniently located on my iPhone and fits in my pocket! I thought I’d share a little of my experience with CoPilot Live guiding my way. Perhaps you’ll find it useful for your next excursion.
You can pretty much stick to walking when enjoying the sites in Boston, so CoPilot Live’s walking mode with turn-by-turn directions and pedestrian-specific routing was extremely useful. Wherever you stay in Boston, an array of pubs are in walking distance, so I made sure to use the Save Current Location feature at my hotel so I could always find my way back!
One of the must-sees in Boston is the Freedom Trail—a walking tour that leads you through 16 historical sites. If you’ve never been, I highly recommend it. A wonderful benefit of having CoPilot Live along was no matter where I was in the city; I could search and locate anything I needed. No need to stop and ask for directions. This proved useful for a caffeine pit stop mid- tour. I used Live Local Search to quickly locate a nearby “Dunkin Donuts” (my favorite) and CoPilot Live guided me straight there. I had remembered to Save Current Location before I veered off the trail so a quick tap on Favorites—where the GPS coordinates were stored—and I was back on the trail.

I’m a sporadic traveler so I didn’t plan a dinner spot ahead of time. I searched CoPilot Live’s immense Points of Interest (POI) database and found a suitable restaurant in the area. Being that I was in Boston, I was in the mood for some New England Clam Chowder so I selected “Seafood” and perused the list of choices. After settling on “Union Oyster House” I used CoPilot Live to preview the route, which quickly led me to believe that walking there was not an option! So I switched to auto mode, checked my trip time and called directly from within CoPilot Live to make a reservation.
After a short flight back to New Jersey I jumped in my car ready to get home, only to realize I had $1.50 left in my wallet. No problem. After setting my Destination to Home, I tapped Show Route and in Options selected “Always Avoid Tolls”. Within the hour I was home, with $1.50 still in my wallet and no time spent on the NJ Turnpike!
Copilot Live definitely made my journey smoother and most important when it comes to traveling—stress free. I couldn’t have asked for a better travel companion (besides my husband of course!)

Save Current Location is a fabulous feature for someone like me with zero sense of direction.
When I am in a department store in a new city, if I don’t pay attention to where I enter, visually dropping bread crumbs, Hansel and Gretel style, from the entrance to where I end up, I can be in horrendous trouble finding my way back to my hotel, on foot, because I will no doubt emerge from a different door and get spun around. And while I love to shop, the whole time I’m in the place I’m nervous that I will get lost, so it somewhat spoils my time. This is great.
