Last week we saw the arrival of Verizon’s first 4G LTE smartphone, the HTC ThunderBolt. The new Google Android device is running Android 2.2 aka “Froyo” and will run on Verizon’s speedy new LTE mobile broadband network. Due to its Verizon 4G network, we’ve been hearing about this device for awhile now, ever since its big splash at CES 2011 back in January. So it’s great to now finally see it available! Device specs include an 8-megapixel rear facing camera with HD video recording, a 1.3-megapixel front facing camera, a hi-res 4.3” display screen, a 32GB SD card pre-loaded and mobile hotspot capability to name a few.
As with all new Android devices, we’ll be testing to ensure CoPilot Live runs smoothly on the ThunderBolt and will update this posting with a compatibility confirmation very soon.
You can learn more about the phone and where to buy it from the official HTC website

I just installed Copilot North on my new Thunderbolt. and when I try to download the maps I supposedly bought, I keep getting a “file missing” notice. Try as I will, I can’t find any mention of that problem on Copilot’s support pages. HELP!
Hi Jeff,
We will be releasing an update for Android later this week that fixes the file missing error. We’ll announce it here as soon as its available.
In the meantime, you can download https://copilotsupport.s3.amazonaws.com/support.zip and unzip and then copy the support.pds file into your SDCoPilotSave folder and then launch CoPilot. This will stop the ‘Required File Missing’ error.
Thank you,
Devon
