Tip & Trick: Avoid Labor Day Weekend Delays with ActiveTraffic™

With the Labor Day weekend coming,  you know that the heavy holiday traffic is inevitable, no matter where you are heading. Why not escape the dreaded bumper to bumper traffic jams by adding  ActiveTraffic™ to your CoPilot Live Premium, Standard or v8 app?

Available for just $9.99*, ActiveTraffic™ combines the highest quality live traffic information with CoPilot’s advanced routing technology to keep you in control of your journey time and avoid delays on route.

Using real-time traffic flow information from our partner INRIX, ActiveTraffic continuously monitors traffic conditions on over 260,000 miles of road nationwide, detecting traffic congestion as you drive and letting you know if a faster route is available. It will also indicate the estimated time you’ll save, providing an option to preview the new route before choosing to detour.

ActiveTrafficfeatures

  • -Traffic Conditions Along Your Route- A color-coded display roads with moderate congestion as yellow and severe congestions as red
  • -Dynamic Traffic Bar- Displayed alongside the map in guidance views, ActiveTraffic  gives you real-time visibility of traffic conditions on-route at a glance

Accurate and Reliable ETAs – Know exactly when you’re going to arrive

ActiveTraffic uses real-time traffic speeds and location reports, to maintain a realistic estimated time of arrival (ETA) throughout your drive—one that is based on the actual road conditions now and not from 30 or 45 minutes ago.  For example, if you’re on your way to  meet friends or colleagues and run into traffic, you can call ahead and let them know you’re running late and what time they can expect you.

At-a-Glance Display of Traffic Conditions – Know what you’re driving into

ActiveTraffic is designed to make sure you’re constantly informed of what’s ahead of you and what you can expect throughout your trip.  A dynamic traffic bar is displayed alongside the map that provides a color-coded view of real-time traffic conditions along your route.  Sections of the route where traffic is flowing freely are shown in green, those with moderate congestion in yellow and severe congestion in red.  And here’s a tip, tap the traffic bar at any time if you want to quickly view the Traffic Map which shows traffic flow on the route and in the surrounding area.   See screenshots below.
