It’s day one of Mobile World Congress here in Barcelona, and we are pleased to announce CoPilot GPS – an all-new free app coming soon to the iTunes App Store and Android Market.
CoPilot GPS includes the same on-board 2D maps and trip planning that’s available in our paid apps for iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. It means that you can find your way even when there’s no mobile signal and avoids the need to use your data allowance for map downloads. Points of interest are pre-installed, and there’s access to Bing and Wikipedia for finding useful places nearby.
We were demonstrating the app at the Show Stoppers media event yesterday, and it was great to see it get picked-up by some of the leading tech bloggers including Engadget and ZDNET.
CoPilot GPS is not designed as a replacement or even an alternative to our flagship full-featured CoPilot Live Premium app. It does not include voice-guided turn directions, automatic recalculation if you miss a turn, speed limit warnings or 3D maps displays, although you can upgrade to these features via an in-app purchase.
We expect that the new app will be available before the end of March via the iTunes app store and Android Market.
Meantime, here’s the press release.

I’m really excited for this–when might we see it? The post above mentions expecting the app before the end of march but we’re over halfway through April and I’m not seeing it in either Google Play or iOS AppStore. I have a trip to Europe this week and this would really come in handy. Your current offerings are great I’m sure but they’re out of my price range considering the limited need I have.
Hi Josh,
We are glad to hear your anticipation for the CoPilot GPS. The app should be out very soon and we will let you know as soon as it is.
Thank you for your customer support.
I am anxious to try CoPilot GPS on my Samsung Galaxy S with Android 2.3.4 firmware. Please let me know when it launches!
