Before You Start Your Trip:
- - Check to ensure that the vehicle has been properly maintained. Items to check include the air conditioner, tires, and engine coolant to name a few.
- - Fill up with fuel.
- - Plan your trip ahead of time to find the best route and avoid holiday traffic.
HINT….we know a great GPS app called CoPilot Live that lets you plan and edit a trip to find the most efficient route and has a built-in traffic feature that will automatically provide the fastest route through traffic
- - Pack the car and double check to make sure all luggage is secure so it does not become a distraction or hazard later on.

On the Road:
- - Try to avoid driving at dusk or dawn so the sun does not hinder your ability to drive
- - Stay alert and focused on the driving task
- - Remember to take breaks often (every 2 hours is recommended) to stretch your legs, grab a drink or snack and hit the road again.
