With the onset of autumn and the clocks going back in just a few weeks time, we’ll all soon have to get back into the habit of driving in the dark. For a lot of us, it can take some getting used to – especially when accompanied by typical autumnal rain and wind. In these circumstances, anything that helps reduce distraction in car is a good thing. Driver Safety Mode is one of the features that sets CoPilot Live apart from other Sat Nav systems precisely because it provides accurate guidance with the minimum of distraction. Originally it was our default navigation view before we introduced 3D displays, and it remains the preferred guidance display for many of our longest-standing customers.
Quite simply Driver Safety displays a large guidance arrow, the next navigation instruction and the distance to the next turn. A map is only shown as you approach the turn. Of course, running CoPilot Live in Driver Safety mode still uses full turn by turn audio instructions so you’re still getting dynamic navigation to your destination.
The concept is that you only really need a map when you actually need to make a turn, not for all those miles where you simply need to follow the road ahead. All the information you need is displayed at a glance, helping you to keep your eyes on the road, not on-screen.
So next time you’ve an early start or your returning home late, why not give Driver Safety a go?
To swap from your current view to the ‘Driver Safety’ option press the ‘Shot Cut’ button (Spanner crossed with screw driver image) on the CoPilot Live navigation screen. Then select the ‘Safety View’ option.
You are now ready to begin your journey with a simplified but equally informative CoPilot.
