So with Autumn beckoning, it was time to put away the BBQ and prepare for the onset of the winter months. But as the clocks went back, it was forwards with CoPilot Live v8.
¬†October saw the launch of some new products, some new plaudits and somethings which went bump in the night.
¬†First up was the expansion of the CoPilot Live world with the announcement of new regions where you can now navigate your¬†drive in¬†safe and familiar hands. Additions to our geography included¬†Brazil, the Middle East, South East Asia, Russia and Turkey for that slightly more exotic journey. All of these are already to buy and download from our webstore and will¬†coming soon to an app store near you.
¬†In terms of platforms, we launched CoPilot Live v8 for Laptop in Europe and have recently announced a full featured Truck variant for the ultimate in Windows-based, in cab navigation. HGV iPhone users, we’ve not forgotten you! Watch this space, as an iPhone/iPad version will be arriving via iTunes shortly.
In the press, Mobile Marketing Magazine featured our own David Quin in a feature on the rise of phone-based Sat Nav at the expense of the dedicated system, while CoPilot Live v8 made it into PC Advisor‚Äôs 150 best software apps.
The Independent went several steps further with CoPilot Live featuring in their Top 50, being the only on-board¬†Sat Nav app in the line up.
Talkiing of on-board, Smart Phone Essentials did a comparision between on-board v off-board mobile based¬†Sat Nav systems, with¬†CoPilot Live as¬†the high scoring representive, outscoring its nearest off-board rival.
Truck and Driver magazine covered the launch of CoPilot Live v8 Truck on Windows Mobile, while the RV mode in our iPhone product received praise from users in Practical Motorhome, making it¬†one of the best apps to take on tour.
Last weekend, The Ski + Board show was held¬†at the NEC in Birmingham. Sponsored by the Daily Telegraph, it featured useful apps to help you get to the slopes. Naturally CoPilot Live was included as these screen shots demonstrate:
Finally, we got into the spirit of Halloween with our great ‘Trip or Tweet’ competition. Some of our regular bloggers told us some toe curling stories about¬†their most terrifying
journeys. Fortunately, we only read them with the lights on.¬†¬†
