Better known in the UK by it’s domestic electricity provider division EDF, Europe’s largest electricity distributor ERDF, is the latest corporate customer to integrate CoPilot Live Professional within their mobile workforce management system. As you might expect, ERDF’s infrastructure is enormous, developing and maintaining 1.3 millions of km of electrical lines that serve nearly 33 million people. As a result, the compant’s mobile engineers are constantly carrying out maintenance on the network including electrical connections, repair and line activation.
In order to improve field efficiency, ERDF has introduced TAMARIS, a handheld-based field service management system incorporating CoPilot Live Professional across 1,100 of its service engineers.
ERDF engineers now receive job schedule locations directly on their device in the field, with CoPilot Live Professional guiding them there automatically with a single button touch. Further appointments are sent dynamically to the handset as the engineer’s shift continues. According to ERDF, the navigation element of the system is proving of particular value for new field workers and those operating in unfamiliar territories.
This is the delivery of the first of several mobile workforce automation projects that we are continuing to scope with ERDF and is a significant addition to our customer portfolio in the Utilities Sector.
