A recent survey conducted by travelsupermarket.com indicated that holidaymakers can pay nearly THREE TIMES more to hire a car through their airline, compared to making a booking independently. The survey showed It can cost as much as £676 extra to hire a car for two weeks at the height of the summer and, a little more immediately, £142 more during next week’s half-term.
While it may be convenient to book car hire this way, it should not be assumed the cheapest company for flights will also provide the best price for car hire. It pays to shop around.
The same rules apply to your holiday navigation. For example, Sixt will charge you 1.71€ per day for a GPS system if you rent a car in Faro. Avis will charge 62.50€ per week, meaning a 2 week holiday would cost you more than 120€.
Alternatively, from only £14.99, you could download CoPilot Live Iberia (Spain & Portugal) on to your smartphone. With maps stored onboard, you won’t have to worry about roaming charges – unlike some other ‘over air’ sat nav apps. What’s more, you’ll be able to use CoPilot Live every time you return.
Happy travelling this half term!
CoPilot Live is also available for France, DACH, Benelux, UK & Ireland, Italy, Nordics, Western / Eastern Europe, all Europe, Russia, North America, Australia & New Zealand and South Africa.
