We are excited to announce that our CoPilot Live Premium apps have been approved by Apple and are now available on the iTunes app store.
It’s two weeks since we launched Premium on the Android Market, where it quickly raced to the top of the paid app charts. As with Android, our iOS apps are available for an introductory 50% discount for the first week – which means just £14.99 for UK + Ireland maps.
CoPilot Live Premium is our new generation of navigation apps, and it brings a variety of new features designed to make journeys easier and more predictable.
Among the highlights are:
- All-new Intuitive User Interface: CoPilot Live Premium puts all the navigation features you need at your fingertips, right when you need them. Tap anywhere on the map to go there.
- Personal Routes™: CoPilot Live Premium helps you find your best way to any destination with a choice of up to three alternate routes. You can also drag the route to a preferred road too!
- Social Navigation: Share your journey details with in-app Twitter updates or check in with Facebook Places. Fully integrated Bing™ local internet search and Wikipedia makes it easy to find all the nearby businesses, services and local attractions you need
- ActiveTraffic™: The optional ActiveTraffic service (available as an in-app purchase) takes into account real-time traffic speeds to intelligently calculate the fastest route to your destination and automatically avoid delays
- Superior Guidance: Clear, non-distracting directions with a choice of 3D, 2D and Directions-only navigation views
- An all-new walking mode with digital compass support to find the way around a city on foot.

I’ve been a CoPilot customer for over 3 years since CoPilot 7. I run Windows Mobile for business reasons and am about to upgrade to a new phone which will have Windows Mobile 7. I have no interest in Apple or Android (neither of these work in an Outlook Exchange business environment). So you will either have to release CoPilot for Windows Mobile or lose a customer. I know I am not the only one.
I completely agree with Mike Locke but much more vehemently! What happens to all your WinMob customers who’ve been faithful paying customers and who NEED to remain on WinMob. I really hope this is not the direction that ALK are going in by completely abandoning a whole swathe of customers to suit a trend. I absolutely love my CoPilot product and it has been of immense help to me in many situations and am astounded that ALK have not developed CoPilot Premium for the WinMob marketplace.
Hi Ian
We’re hoping to introduce a version of CoPilot Live Premium for Windows Mobile 6.5 in the near future. Unfortunately, we’ve no current plans to extend that to Windows Phone 7 in the near future.
I bought CoPilot for the iPad last week. Do I have to pay £14.99 a week later for an upgrade? Surely I must qualify for a free upgrade, not?
will copilot live premium for iphone have life-time maps updates or we will have to pay every year for a new map ? somewhere i’ve read it has a map subscription every year ..can you tell us more please ?
Hi Gigg
There is no map subscription with CoPilot Live Premium. When purchasing the app through iTunes, the mapping is included within the application as the total download,
I brought this Saturday when it was posted on the App Store, Overall I like it but i’ve had a couple of problems (Dave can you advise if I need to post these else where)
1. It seem really laggy sometimes to respond (i.e. switching from maps to menus)
2. The routing system seems to do some odd things like if you route from Portsmouth to Brighton it tried to take you though the middle of Chichester instead of the Chichester bypass which is the fastest route.
3. I’ve had it freeze up on me a couple of times now after about a min or two it starts again.
4. No options to add the current location to the favourite list (that I can find)
5. Quick access to disable sounds ( I think this need to be on the front screen or quick menu as its something which I turn on and off all the time)
Will there be any options like TomTom for user adjusted maps/route?
6. Drag feature, love the idea but when you try and use it like I did with my above problem to avoid going though Chichester it should really only snap to only roads you can see in the current zoom level as I dragged it but it kept snapping to local roads not the main A27 which I could not see
Hi Chris
Sorry to hear you’re encountering problems with the Drag routing. I just did ‘Plan a Route’ between Portsmouth and Brighton (Car profile) and it routed me along the A27?
Tim
Tim are you able to email I do this route every week and I’ve taken screenshots and its always the same at chichester it will route you off the A27 chichester bypass onto A285
Hopefully this might work…
Guess not here is a link

I bought co-pilot premium for UK & ireland but it wouldn’t install properly on my iphone 3gs – no maps downloaded at all. I did remove the old version of copilot before as recommended. Has anyone else had that problem?
Hi Dee
Sorry to hear you’re having some problems with the install. Here are some suggested steps to help you resolve this:
1) Delete the CoPilot Live Premium app from your iPhone
a. Touch and hold the CoPilot Live Premium app icon on your iPhone until the icons start to wiggle.
b. Tap the “x” in the corner of the CoPilot Live Premium app to delete it.
c. Tap Delete to remove the app and all of its data from your device.
2) Switch your iPhone off then on again (“power cycle”)
a. Press and hold the power button until the ‘Slide to Power Off’ message appears on screen.
b. Slide to completely power-off your iPhone.
c. Press the power button to restart your iPhone.
3) Re-download the app to iTunes on a Mac or PC
a. Start iTunes on your Mac or PC.
b. Select App Store and sign-in to your iTunes account using your Apple ID.
c. Search for your CoPilot Live Premium app and re-download it.
d. Note (from Apple): please ensure you are using the iTunes account you purchased the app with originally. If it is not, you will be charged for the app again.
4) Sync your iPhone with your Mac or PC and install the app using a sync cable
a. Connect your iPhone to your Mac or PC using the iPhone sync cable.
b. iTunes should automatically install your CoPilot Live Premium app to your iPhone.
c. If installation does not occur automatically then drag CoPilot Live Premium from ‘Apps’ in your iTunes library to your iPhone.
Hopefully, one of these options will get you up and running.
Regards
Tim
Just followed the instructions to the letter described in the previous comment by Tim Sergent having deleted everything and re installed the App. I dragged it straight to my phone and it still has not installed any maps. I have wasted money and time on this app and this is totally unacceptable. How soon can I expect a refund ?
Regards Ian Hilton
Hi Ian
Sorry to hear you’re still encountering problems – we’ve released an update today that should solve this issue.

I am owner of Copilote Live HD Europe on my Ipad. Can I upgrade my licence to Copilote Live Premium Hd Europe or must I buy a new Premium licence?
Kindest regards

Hi Nils. CoPilot Live Premium is brand new application – unfortunately there is no method of upgrading in the iTunes store hence the reason why where we’ve introduced it, we have done so with an introductory pricing offer for a 7 day period.
