Any chance of looking into why it says Street for an St prefix, rather than Saint?

    • Alan Goodman
      Posted August 1, 2011 at 4:33 pm | Permalink

Its because on the maps both street and saint are shortened to st. The app probably needs to say street if st is the last word in the name; nokias ovi maps gets this right.

      Hi Ben and Alan

The Saint v Street issue will be corrected in the next update.

Can you let me know when the next update is likely to be, as I’m waiting for it to be released, with hopefully the POI import issue fixed, before I upgrade to Live 8 Premium.
Why is the new version not called CoPilot Live Version 9?

        Regards

Also the TTS says “Enter City name or ZIP Code” on the UK edition, even though the window title asks for Postcode.

I used Live 8 and thought it was the bees knees. I was unsure about updating to Live Premium and having to pay again, but have been using it all the time, in Spain and in England, and I am now convinced that it is even better – than Live 8 AND TomTom. Well done.

Sadly paid for the traffic update after support said I couldn’t transfer from 8 to 9. Traffic on map browse only shows if you zoom in quite close – like liked to be able to see a wide angle map with warning symbols on. And voice instructions still say “bear left” and “bear right” when the road markings and layout are clearly “turn left” and “turn right” – “turn” instructions are the minority on my routes! Other satnavs get it right, only Copilot creates the confusion.

Sadly I thought this product was an offline sat nav.
I disabled my data connection for travelling abroad and after one day Copilot wouldn’t load.
On returning to the UK I got in touch with ALK who tell me I need a data connection for my license to be verified.
It navigates using offline data, but won’t load at all unless it can get online every few days.
Is this only a bombshell to me?

      Hi Brendan

Currently, the Android version of CoPilot Live Premium needs to verifiy with Google every few days, meaning that a data connection is required – although very briefly. An update to our Android product will address this issue meaning no data verification will no longer be required.

Great to see you now support subs transfer in the new version. However I get an error message – Unable to complete actions at this time [-320] – what does it mean? Thanks.

Hi Tony – Assuming this is iPhone? It might be resolved by simply trying to re-sync again. If not, our support team should be able to help – especially if you put the error message in the subject heading – http://www.copilotlive.com/support

Any chance of adding an option to disable the very large lane guidance image that pops up to that is supposed to guide you into the correct lane? If you disable clear turn it also disables the lane guidance arrows which are really useful, the large image unfortunately isn’t it stays on the screen for too long and I find it obscures where you need to go next especially if you are at a complex junction and I always find myself reaching for the button to kill it.

      Hi Nick

Thanks for the feedback – the issue of the ClearTurn image being on screen for too long has been noted and is being addressed by our development team.

I would second that request to show the road sign lane assistent images even if ClearTurn is turned completely off. I don’t need ClearTurn but the lane assistent images are useful.

      Hi Amer

The mapping in CoPilot Live in Europe is supplied through our partner NAVTEQ, so we can only display what is currently available within NAVTEQ’s mapping data. Be assured that they are constantly updating their map data so hopefully full street data will be covered by them soon

Glad to there is some hope with custom waypoints, the previous app handles them fine and until the issue is sorted Copilot Premium will be lagging behind its predecessor. From a personal point of view I am big user of this feature.

Also after forking out for a second traffic subscription I’m very disappointed to discover that I could have transfer my subscription Copilot 8.

Fingers crossed this app will redeem itself in future updates, the sooner the better. That said, I do like the new routing options.

Seem to have found a bug where it stops speaking and announcing turns etc, it’s happened on both trips I’ve had today, I did reboot my handset before my second trip just in case that was the cause but it still happened on my return trip, I’m running Copilot on an HTC Desire HD.

Hi, on my V8 for HTC I could purchse two regions, europe and USA, and switch between them when travelling. This was a really good feature, now having upgraded to V9 on my Samsung Android I have been told that I can’t load my NA maps at the same time as my Eur maps on my new V9. What is the solution to this, if I buy a US version can I run two instances of Copilot or will one ovewrite the other
