Today is the “official” day when you can open the first door on the advent calendar, put up your Christmas tree and start celebrating the festive season – although all the streets are already full of decorations, sales and mince pies!
December is also a month to travel: enjoying Christmas Fairs and Markets, shopping and visiting friends and family. So in the Spirit of the Season, here are some great things to do in December:
- Enjoy traffic free shopping on Oxford Street and Regent Street (London) on the 10th & 11th of December - and don’t miss the West End’s Christmas Carol-A-Thon, a 30-hour festive sing-along, to raise funds for the charity, Kids Company!!
- If you fancy travelling further field, why not travel to Germany and enjoy Nuremberg’s 400-year-old Christkindlmarkt? More than 200 market stalls line the main square of the Old Town, festooned with lights, trees and decorations.
- If you don’t want to travel abroad you can still visit one of our many UK Christmas Markets, like the Yorkshire Winter Wonderland in York or the Dickens Christmas Market at Rochester Castle! Lot of Ice Rinks, mulled wine and handmade gifts!

- Also in December, we’ll have lot of good news for you, we can’t say anything yet, we don’t want to spoil the surprise, but keep an eye on our blog, Facebook page and Twitter feed. It’s coming soon!
