CoPilot GPS App Makes its Debut on the App Stores

CoPilot GPS is our all-new offline route planning and local exploring app that gets you everywhere you need to go without relying on your mobile data connection. Detailed maps of an entire country or region are stored on your smartphone or tablet, so you’ll be able to calculate routes and get driving or walking instructions even when there’s no mobile coverage. Millions of Points of Interest (POIs) are built into the app, making it easy to locate nearby restaurants, shops, hotels and more. You can also search for local businesses and attractions using Bing™ and Wikipedia. And did we mention the best part…….mapping and planning is FREE!!!

Note: CoPilot GPS does not include full voice-guided turn by turn navigation or 3D maps – you can upgrade through in-app purchase or simply buy one of our CoPilot Live Premium apps.

Awesome! Loving how I can have all my maps in one app rather than having to have one for UK, one for USA and one for Australia. Great update. For some reason I seem to have gained Western & Eastern European Maps licence as well, certainly not complaining Thanks very much!

    Using iPhone 4S, originally had UK & IE, North America and Australia & NZ Apps. Now have those Maps but in addition have Eastern & Western Europe available for download (however the top download for All of Western and Eastern Europe is still showing for sale)

    Interestingly, I can only use my services on one handset now? I have an iPhone 4S and an iPhone 4 (that I mostly use when in the USA) with CoPilot V8 I had the app installed on both handsets, I have just installed CoPilot GPS on my iPhone 4 and it is saying there are no Licences available to resort on my CoPilot ID. Is this normal???

Hi and thank you for the upgrade to CoPilot GPS for android. I was given the opportunity to upgrade from CoPilot Live V8.
Is this now two separate apps on my android phone? I needed to download my maps again for Copilot GPS although I had the maps already for Copilot Live V8.
I note that both apps are now on my phone and appear to run independently.
Can I safely remove the Copilot Live V8 without losing any settings, subscriptions or anything else I haven’t thought about. I did transfer settings during the upgrade process.
I suppose what I’m asking is: Do I need to keep Copilot Live V8 and its maps on the phone now.

  You don’t need to keep CoPilot Live v8 any more. CoPilot GPS will continue to receive updates and CoPilot GPS should have all your maps and settings. You can remove CoPilot Live v8 to save space.

Again, no Win Mobile app. How disappointing that ALK are going down the route of ignoring those users who have Win Mobile, just like with CoPilot Live Premium. Not everyone wants or can have either an iOS or Android device and it’s about time ALK woke up to this simple fact. Come on ALK, you’re missing a whole sector of the smartphone world!!

  Hi Ian. Were you referring to Windows Phone 7? We’re investigating the possibility of a Windows Phone app in the future, but no current plans right now. Windows Mobile is no longer shipping on new handsets and not supported by Microsoft so there will not be any new CoPilot apps for Windows Mobile 5, 6x.

If I install CoPilot GPS on my Android phone and then use the in-app upgrade to get full voice-guided navigation, is the result CoPilot Live Premium, or is it a different product? If it is different, what are the differences in features between the two products?

  CoPilot Live Premium is the most feature-complete product and includes Text-to-speech, 12-months of ActiveTraffic and will likely include more benefits exclusive to CoPilot Live Premium apps. If you’re considering adding ActiveTraffic too then I’d recommend instead purchasing the Premium app and removing the free CoPilot GPS app.

I have paid for Co-pilot live and I have been using it for about a year. I have downloaded Co-pilot GPS and it seems that it is now asking me for another £17+ for all the 3-D maps and voice returns etc that I have already paid for in Co-pilot live. Should this be happening? What do I have to do to get back to the full product I had before?

  Hi Andy. As an existing customer you can unlock the voice guided navigation option in the CoPilot GPS app for free. Please login with your existing CoPilot ID (email address), that will unlock those additional features (plus any subscriptions and extras you’d purchased).

Hi guys, and probably girls too.

I recently puchased Copilot gps via the apple app store and upgraded for full voice guided navigation and text to speech. I’m thinking about traffic too but after reading some of the above comments, live premium could well have been a better bet. If this is the case would I have to spend another £24.99 or, is there a redeem code and it would only charge me for the difference. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions
